8-Core Tensile Neutral Buoyancy Cable
8-Core Tensile Neutral Buoyancy Cable
This underwater cable, functioning as a neutral buoyancy cable, tensile neutral buoyancy cable, ROV tether cable, and buoyant Ethernet cable for AUV, is designed for applications requiring frequent deployment, retrieval, towing, and neutral buoyancy operation, including use with Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), ocean exploration systems, and surface monitoring equipment.
It is suitable for long-term operation in both saltwater and freshwater environments, providing reliable power and signal transmission while withstanding water currents, abrasion from obstacles, and mechanical stress.

Main Features
Floating Capability: Engineered with a specific gravity close to that of the operating medium (freshwater: 1.0 g/cm³ / seawater: 1.02–1.03 g/cm³).
Tensile Strength: Standard tensile load range of 200 kg to 500 kg, with custom options available up to 1000 kg or higher.
Signal Transmission: Features an 8-core configuration (typically 4 twisted pairs) that supports Ethernet protocols for industrial data transmission requirements.
Dynamic Flexibility: Designed with a dynamic bend radius of 5D to 8D and a flex life of 5 to 10 million cycles, making it suitable for drum winches and high-frequency bending applications.
Designed & Customized
Core Count: Core count can be tailored from 2 to 16 or more (e.g., 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 cores), supporting pure power, pure signal, or hybrid configurations. Our standard 8-core (4 twisted pairs) Ethernet design is one example. We recommend the optimal core layout based on your power‑to‑signal ratio and mechanical requirements.
Buoyancy: Neutral buoyancy can be engineered to match freshwater (~1.00 g/cm³), seawater (~1.02–1.03 g/cm³), or other specified densities. Slight positive or negative buoyancy is also available. Our team suggests the best density for your deployment, retrieval, and towing conditions.
Tensile Strength: Standard tensile load range: 200–500 kg. Custom options up to 1000 kg or higher. Strength members (e.g., aramid, polyester) are adjusted based on core count and outer diameter. We provide load‑rating advice to ensure safety margins for dynamic operations like ROV tethering or AUV towing.
Materials: Conductor: bare copper, tinned copper, or copper alloy.
Shielding: braid, foil, or hybrid.
Sheath: PUR (extreme temp / long‑term submersion), PVC (economical), or specialty thermoplastics.
We recommend material combinations based on your environmental exposure (seawater, chemicals, UV, abrasion) and flex life targets (5–10 million cycles).
