LARS Cable Solutions

for Launch and Recovery Systems

LARS operations place demanding mechanical and environmental requirements on umbilical cables during repeated launch and recovery. The umbilical cable can be engineered for the required bending performance, tensile strength, mechanical protection, power, signal, and fiber optic transmission.

LARS cables may also be referred to as deck cables or shipboard cables in some project applications. A typical LARS system integrates an umbilical cable, winch, overboarding mechanism, and docking head, combining mechanical systems, hydraulic control, automation, and deep-sea communication technologies for reliable subsea deployment and recovery.

Cable Requirements
